Soldiers and other security personel attached to the Calabar/Itu bridge head along Cross River and Akwa Ibom States boundary has repelled suspected attackers from entering Ikot Offiong in Odukpani local government area of Cross River State. These suspects, who carried warring weapons and other equipment were said to have come from Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom State. The national publicity secretary of the APC, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu, announced the appointment in a statement. Mr Gaidom, who has been in the office of the Deputy national Secretary before his appointment to the office of the National Secretary, will remain in the role until Yobe State nominates a replacement for the state’s Governor-Elect, Mai Mala Buni, who had resigned ahead of the general elections.
