Atiku, PDP dismiss INEC’s denials, demand access to server, results

•Insist commission transmitted election results to server •Seek permission to file report of inspection, examination Olusola Fabiyi   and  Ade Adesomoju The Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate in the February 23 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have filed a fresh application for access to information contained in the smart card readers and “central server”, which it said the Independent National Electoral Commission used for the conduct of the disputed election. They filed the application before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, where their petition challenging President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress’ victory at the poll is pending. The petitioners, through their lead counsel, Dr. Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), made the request in their application filed before the tribunal, despite INEC’s insistence that the results of the election were manually collated and never transmitted electronically

President Buhari's Wife Perform Lesser Hajj In Makkah

President Muhammadu Buhari and wife, Aisha, on Saturday, performed Umrah (lesser Hajj) at the Masjid Haram (the Grand Mosque) in Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Buhari who embarked on the journey with close personal aides on Thursday, May 16, 2019, was invited by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the ruler of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to perform the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) in the Kingdom. The Emeritus President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has denied an allegations laid before him of withdrawing Billions of Naira from the Nations treasury while he was in office. The former president who spoke at a meeting organized by the Anglican Community in Abuja on Friday described the allegation has false and misleading. He expressed sadness at what he described as ‘low’, people who tell lies against others. “I remember a particular incidence where somebody was talking about billions that were removed from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and I asked them, how many trucks were used to carry all these billions? “In Nigeria, we get carried away by figures. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER TO PROJECT THE U.S COMPUTER NETWORKS FROM FOREIGN THREATS

On wednesday, President Donald Trump  signed an executive order declaring a national emergency and barring US companies from using telecommunications equipment made by firms posing a national security risk. The order invokes the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which gives the president the authority to regulate commerce in answers to a national emergency that threatens the United States. No countries or companies are mentioned in the order, but the move comes amid growing tensions between Washington and China and some of its major technology and telecommunications companies. It could be aimed at Chinese tech giant Huawei, the world's biggest supplier of network equipment used by phone and internet companies. Huawei has long been seen as a front for spying by the Chinese military or security services, but the company has denied the allegations.
