The emeritus President Jonathan Denies Withdrawing ‘Billions’ From Treasury

The Emeritus President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has denied an allegations laid before him of withdrawing Billions of Naira from the Nations treasury while he was in office.
The former president who spoke at a meeting organized by the Anglican Community in Abuja on Friday described the allegation has false and misleading.
He expressed sadness at what he described as ‘low’, people who tell lies against others.
“I remember a particular incidence where somebody was talking about billions that were removed from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and I asked them, how many trucks were used to carry all these billions?
“In Nigeria, we get carried away by figures. And it’s sad that we go too low to tell lies against people.”

Jonathan urged for more prayers over the spate of insecurity in the country and asked that more should be done to nip the crisis in the bud.
“As a nation, we have been passing through a lot of challenges; the issues of kidnapping, armed robbery, and even to travel to very near cities like Kaduna is becoming a nightmare to Nigerians.
“But I believe with your constant prayers, asking God to take the lead, the country will get through all its challenges.”

BOY COUGHT STEALING WOMAN'S PANT AT OSUN STATE

A 19 years boy on Monday was sentenced to 6 years in prisonment for allergedly being cought stealing  a woman's under wear at osun state. he was said to have been taking these under wear to some Yahoo boys where he would be paid some reasonable amount of money. Magistrate Rofiat Olayemi sentenced the convict without any option to pay fine. The Prosecutor, Insp. Jafani Musilimi, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on January 28, at about 10 a.m. at No. 12, Ibokun Road, Oja-Oba area, Osogbo. Musilimi said the convict broke into the apartment of one Folashade Ganiyu and stole three underpants belonging to her inside her bathroom. “The convict also stole a Techno mobile phone belonging to the complainant. The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 412 and 249(d) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002. The convict was charged with theft and breach of public peace 

Aisha Buhari Criticises FG’s Social Investment Programme

The President's wife, Aisha Buhari, has criticized the Social Investment Programme of the Federal Government, she said  "the programme has failed to achieve its aim in Kano and most parts of Northern Nigeria". Mrs Aisha Buhari stated this at the interactive session with women as part of the presidential inauguration ceremony at the State House in Abuja. The wife of the President, who specifically mentioned the conditional cash transfer component, questioned the method used in executing the programme. She also faulted the amount of money spent on the purchase of mosquito nets. “They have spent $16 million buying mosquito nets. I did not get it, but maybe some people have gotten it.
