Children’s welfare will be our priority, says Kwara Gov-elect

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Kwara State Governor-elect has said that his administration will give priority to issues concerning children in the state.
Abdulrazaq stated this assurance in a congratulatory message sent to Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2019 Children’s Day and signed by his Media aide, Mr Rafiu Ajakaiye.
according to him,He said,  “The greatness of any society is determined by how much premium it places on the welfare of its children.  and so, this is why we will pay a closser and a better attention to the rights of our children to basic education and conducive environment to succeed in life.”

Abdulrazaq said his administration will pursue child-friendly policies and support global initiatives to give children a head start in life.
“ making provisions for quality maternal health services, basic education and encouragement of exclusive breastfeeding, we are determined to help the Kwara children to  attain their full potentials,” the statement added.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Monday killed seven persons in Bulama Isa and Dala wulari villages, outskirt of Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno state. The two villages are 2km away from the Bakassi IDPs camp, host to over 30,000 displaced Persons from about seven local government areas of Borno state. A senior Civilian Joint Taskforce member who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the attack occurred Sunday night between 1.15am to 2am when the terrorists invaded the two village, shot sporadically before killing the victims by sliting their throats. The CJTF source added that the attackers spared women in the villages during the attack, saying that in the third surrounding village, Mustapha Malumbe, the terrorists looted food items and livestock before fleeing. As at the time of filing this report, no statement has been issued by either the police or the military over the attacks.

Columbia Sportswear Co.  is feeling the pain from the U.S. trade war with China, and if the situation intensifies, Chief Executive Officer Tim Boyle says consumers will feel it too. The Trump administration’s latest tariff proposal on goods imported from China has forced the outdoor-gear and apparel maker to spend more time managing its supply chain than its sales operations, Boyle said in an interview on Bloomberg TV. BOY COUGHT STEALING WOMAN'S PANT AT OSUN STATE

A 19 years boy on Monday was sentenced to 6 years in prisonment for allergedly being cought stealing  a woman's under wear at osun state. he was said to have been taking these under wear to some Yahoo boys where he would be paid some reasonable amount of money. Magistrate Rofiat Olayemi sentenced the convict without any option to pay fine. The Prosecutor, Insp. Jafani Musilimi, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on January 28, at about 10 a.m. at No. 12, Ibokun Road, Oja-Oba area, Osogbo. Musilimi said the convict broke into the apartment of one Folashade Ganiyu and stole three underpants belonging to her inside her bathroom. “The convict also stole a Techno mobile phone belonging to the complainant. The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 412 and 249(d) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
